A bit about me

Hi! I’m Julia, a full-spectrum doula certified with Doula Canada.

I support families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with compassionate, evidence-informed care, with a calm, steady presence. My work is rooted in advocacy, respect, and the belief that every birthing person deserves to feel safe, heard, and empowered throughout their journey.

My Journey to Becoming a Doula

I have always been interested in birthwork, and I deeply value the opportunity to support people during such an incredible and transformative time. While my interest in birthwork has been long-standing, it was not the first path I pursued.

I graduated in 2024 with a B.Sc. in Psychology, originally planning to become a clinical counsellor with a focus on women’s mental health, particularly supporting those navigating the postpartum period. Even while following that path, I spent my personal time learning everything I could about pregnancy and birth, simply out of my own curiosity and passion.

It wasn’t until one of my professors mentioned the doula profession that everything clicked. Becoming a doula felt like the perfect intersection of my personal interests and professional goals. I completed my degree knowing it would be an invaluable foundation and immediately began my training to become a doula, ready to support families with knowledge, care, and compassion through their birth and postpartum journey.

My Approach

Every birth is unique. Some people come with a detailed birth plan, while others are unsure of what to expect. As your doula, I am here to guide, support, and empower you, ensuring your wishes are honored every step of the way. I believe birth should be an active, participatory experience—you deserve to be respected, involved in decisions, and truly heard.

Here’s what you can expect from me:

  • Reassurance

Continuous encouragement, affirmation, and grounding support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

  • Active Listening

Empathetic, nonjudgmental conversation to help you process emotions, fears, and questions.

  • Calm Presence

A steady, soothing energy to help you feel centred and supported, even during moments of intensity or uncertainty.

  • Support

Compassionate, attentive care that adapts to your needs: physical, emotional, and informational.

  • Advocacy

Women and marginalized communities are too often dismissed in healthcare settings, especially at the intersections of both. This is unacceptable. I am committed to ensuring your choices, boundaries, and needs are respected and that you receive high-quality care.

  • Empowerment

My ultimate goal is to help you trust your body, your instincts, and your decisions, so your birth and postpartum experience feels informed, supported, and empowering.

  • Safe space

Holding a safe space for everyone.
